Hello Elflings,
As you've probably guessed by the title, today I will be rambling about Christmas cards. I'm sure many of you are probably thinking "How can you even ramble about Christmas cards?", now don't underestimate my ability of rambling. I promise I can. Treat yourself to a Yule log and away we go.
Personally, Christmas cards are part of the magic of Christmas for me. I like to view the festive time as a reflective time, it's the time you get to catch up with everyone and use "ah, It's Christmas" as an excuse for anything. But I also like to view it as a perfect time to thank people and let them know how much I appreciate them before the new year starts. I guess you could say I am one of those people that views the new year as a fresh start kinda thing. So, for me the perfect way to ramble and say thank you is through a glittery Christmas card that goes absolutely everywhere.
Of course, your Christmas cards don't have to be glittery but you get the point. I try to make as many Christmas cards as I can but I never seem to be organised enough to hand make all of them so I like to choose ones with nice verses and such if this is the case.
My go to for anything crafty is always Pinterest, it's such a good place to find inspiration... for anything (really, It's true but I'll remain card related). There's your cards with only pens used, there's glitter, buttons, Christmas tree stick ons and ideas for using paint samples as Christmas trees. I'll leave a link to my Christmas card board here so you can scroll for inspiration if you fancy it!
A couple of years ago I was in WH Smith and found some Christmas cards that had designs on them but you coloured them in yourself. Obviously, I bought them and this year I actually got around to colouring them! They're so easy to do and don't require too much time, the beauty of them is you can put the TV on and sit and colour, it is also a good way to unwind and relax. It doesn't take as long as designing your own but still has the handmade feel to it.
Although hand made cards have my heart I understand that not everyone fancies it and I personally think that this year there's been some really nice cards dotted around. So, spend that extra time to find a nice one in which you can tell someone you appreciate them.
I hope I succeeded in rambling about Christmas cards,
Until tomorrow,
Lia x
