Cosy Catch Up #1

Hey there Earth bugs (switched it up a bit),

As it is the first of February it seemed quite fitting to do a bit of a cosy catch up to review the never ending month of January. I feel quite cosy right now, despite the bitter weather, I'm sat tapping this prior to Death in Paradise which is obviously always a good time of the day and I'm also going to have a hot chocolate so bonus. January feels like it had approximately 67 days but we made it to February. The first month of 2018 was definitely an odd one for so many reasons that I won't mention here but as a whole, I'm glad to move onto a new month. It's a record as well that it's the first of the month and I have already turned my calendars over, normally it is at least the 8th before I manage to do it. Mini victory. Feel free to grab a hot beverage, or cool, and let's go.

I have set myself some more creative goals for the year but I'm going to set myself some mini goals for February. I'd like to try and attempt some form of exercise at least maybe twice a week, I think I'll probably faint at some point or at least injure myself but baby steps. This is kind of a "must" but I need to read Pride and Prejudice before the end of February and also try and tick off the few things I have left to do on my 18 things to do at 18 list (read it here). I'd like to try and complete at least one craft project too. In terms of my blog, I'd like to attempt to be a bit more active socially (wish me luck, that normally goes terrible).

In January, I set myself the goal to join in the Race at your Pace kinda thing, you can look into them more here, I liked the fact that I wasn't against anyone apart from myself so gave it a go. Obviously, I only choose the 25 miles option as I'm rather unfit and took part in it to start building my fitness up slowly and I opted to walk rather than run so I didn't hospitalise myself. But I did it. Doing things in a very Lia fashion I left it right until the 31st to officially complete it, so I shall be submitting my evidence and getting a medal. This is my 4th exercise medal and you'd think I'd be a little fitter by now by no, still out of breath if I run up the stairs.

I'm back at uni, I now get the bus instead of the train which is a bit cheaper although I keep nearly missing my stop because I just sit there and daydream. Let's not forget that I also fell down the stairs last week, it was quite a traumatic experience and I was very happy when I was off. I feel a bit more positive about semester 2 than I did semester 1 mainly because I kind of know what to expect a little more than I did. It's still a bit of a struggle and some things aren't going the exact way I'd like them to but I'm getting there.

Jack and I have finally started looked at some trips to do this year...it seems to have taken a while. This time last year there about a week until we were going to Paris, Portugal had been booked a while, Edinburgh had just been booked and I think Spain flights may have come not long after...now look? Nothing. However, we are looking at going to Venice and I'm so excited, for some reason I've always loved the thought of going to Italy. There are so many places in Italy that I would love to go so I enjoy the fact that we're looking at Italy. We also definitely have a trip to Stratford upon Avon as part of my Christmas presents and I can't wait for that either because it is one of my favourite places. We're planning some adventures!

In February I have a few exciting things happening so look out for some potential blog posts and of course, next month is my birthday! But I have no clue what to do. I mean obviously I will think of something but I feel rather unorganised so far.

Thanks for plodding along with this catch up, I've decided to number my cosy catch ups from now on for 2018 so they can be a bit of a mini 'thing'. I just made them a thing. So, be prepared for more!

Until next time,
Lia x

Doris goes to see Captain Marvel | FILM REVIEW

Hello dearies!  I hear the new film that's 'hot on the block' recently is this Captain Marvel one, and little old Doris does like to be hip, trendy and down with the kids *throws the equivalent of a swagger sign* so decided to hop on the bandwagon and go along, booking myself in for the 12.00 (pm just to clarify) showing at the local cinema. I'm currently cutting down on the whole chocolate/cake/biscuits scene, so sneaked a small tub of Pringles into the cinema with me...I have to say, I felt like a bit of a rebel eating food that I'd bought from somewhere else whilst inside the cinema, it was an adrenaline rush! If you're wondering what flavour Pringles they were, I obviously chose the best ones aka sour cream and onion as I'm not some sort of monster.  Anyway, I did buy one of those Tango Ice thingymabobs as I hear that's too what the cool kids like to have at the cinema. I could only have cherry though as the machine wasn't working properly, t

End of Summer Catch Up

Hello Earthlings, One I know this post is late and last weeks was early but from this Sunday it will be back to normal and two please don't be upset with the title of this blog as I hate to tell all of you summer lovers but summer is nearing the end...well for 2016 anyway but saying summer 2017 seems a little bit too far away right now. I thought that I would take some time now to have a catch up, through the screens of our technical devices, before the new season is upon us. I have to say, I personally love the changing of the seasons, for any season not just for the end of the summer to the beginning of autumn but for all of them. I don't really have a favourite season because I love the perks of all of them; autumn means the leaves change colours and Halloween and Bonfire Night, winter means cold weather, cosiness, Christmas and New Year, spring means lighter nights, Easter and new life and summer means hot weather, relaxing and of course a lot of time off (well for now,

Twenty

Hello Earthlings! As I sit and type this I'm tucked up cosy in bed and listening to the wind batter everything in sight, and it doesn't matter that today I turned 20 because the wind still scares me so I'm still going to tuck up as tight as I can and try my best to ignore it after I've typed this. But, anyway! Hi. Birthdays are a funny thing, you know they're going to happen and you know that you get older but they're a bit odd. When I was little, I looked forward to being a teenager which in itself is completely barmy (maybe I'm the only one intimidated by groups of teenagers...), and I always thought "13 is such a grown up age!!!" because 6 year old me was clearly clueless. I remember a particular time where I stood looking out of my bedroom window, in the house I lived in as a young child, wistfully into the distance (you know like they do on films where it gets to a real deep moment?) and couldn't wait for 13 to arrive so I could be a &
